Estée Blu

Independent Singer Songwriter & Producer, Estée Blu

About this speaker

Estée Blu is an independent Singer-Songwriter, Producer and Activist from London, England. Raised by her Congolese-Belgian mother, Blu grew up singing in church and found her signature sound weaving between R&B, Jazz and Afro-fusion influences. Since launching her career in 2015, she has been supported by Help Musicians, AfroPunk, COLORS, the MOBO Awards and the historic Camden Roundhouse venue, as a Resident Artist. Blu has been compared to the likes of SZA and Solange by NME and received nods from influential tastemakers such as Jamz Supernova, Julie Adenuga and Remi Burgz. In recent years during her musical hiatus, activism and advocacy work have been key drivers for Estée Blu as a Black British woman in music. She champions equity, accessibility and safety in the industry and currently sits on various boards as a Trustee for music education charity Sound Connections, a Board Director for women and gender minority parity CIC the F-List and is a part of the Richard Antwi Scholarship committee. Estée Blu is now recording and co-producing her second EP project ‘Solo’, due for 2023 release. Working with producers such as Soulection certified Digital Mozart and Hip Hop-Jazz heavy-weight Isatta Sheriff, this new body of work will display some of her most exciting, personal and experimental work to date.
