Moving Forward: Empowering Creators through Independence (A Fireside Chat with Molly Neuman)
A Talk by Molly Neuman and Christine Osazuwa
About this Talk
In this keynote fireside chat, three-time Billboard Women In Music honoree Molly Neuman will discuss her career path, starting as a member of a world-touring, self-managed band, to building a career out of supporting musicians and their art. Her musical career began as drummer in Bratmobile, part of the massively influential riot grrrl movement of the 1990s. Since then, she has worked with independent artists at record labels, digital services, as head of music at Kickstarter, and finally in leadership at Songtrust and Downtown. As a longtime artist advocate, Neuman is an ideal fit as CMO at Downtown, with its focus on artist services and mission to build a creator-focused and truly equitable music business, as well as to uplift the industry at large. Join Molly and Christine in discussing her career path; independence and transparency for creators; her work both in and out of the office on behalf of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the music business; and more.
